Privacy Policy

Starring(“we”) takes your privacy seriously, especially because photos of faces are sensitive. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the controls you have.

What we collect

  • Your email, to send your code, your previews and videos, and account notices.
  • Photos you upload, to generate your preview and video.
  • Generated images and videos tied to your account.
  • Usage and device data (analytics, error logs) to run and improve the Service.
  • Payment records from our Merchant of Record (we never see your full card details).

How your photos are handled

  • Uploads are stored in private storage and served only to you through short-lived signed links.
  • On upload we re-encode images, which strips EXIF/GPS metadata.
  • Your photo is sent to our AI providers (e.g. fal.ai and the underlying model) transiently, only to generate your output.
  • We do not use your photos to train AI models, and we do not sell your data.

Retention and deletion

  • You can delete your data at any time from your account — this removes your uploads, generated outputs, and account.
  • If you request a preview but never purchase, we auto-delete your upload and preview after 90 days.
  • We keep minimal transaction records as required for accounting and fraud prevention.

Who we share with (processors)

We use vetted processors to operate the Service: Supabase (database, auth, storage), Vercel (hosting), fal.ai and its model providers (generation), Lemon Squeezy (payments), Resend (email), PostHog (analytics), and Sentry (error monitoring). They process data on our instructions.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your data, and to object to certain processing. Use the in-app deletion tool or email support@starring.video and we will respond promptly.

Children

The Service is for adults. Family templates may depict a child only when created by their parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect data from children directly.
